pron… it’s not THAT bad…
It’s getting quite common these days I guess since I read about the Ban of Loli in Japan to the ban of Porn in general (without giving an actual definition of “porn”) in the Ukraine – except for “Medical” reasons. Why would you do that? I mean, since we got a LOT worse problems in the world to take care of than “pornography” this whole tripping about on this topic is nothing else than trying to divert the attention from the real itching topics like… I don’t know… THE WHOLE FUCKING ECONOMY BEING FUCKED…
Where were we? aaah yes! I was amazed that such a ruling was passed – especially in the Ukraine, a state eager to become a member of the EU, as freedom of speech – to which i count watching porn, but i guess others may find a better description of it – is so important.
The only exception is the “medical use” which I would find quite amusing:
“Yeah… so… umm…doc, I kind of had a…boner for like… 5 days, …could you prescribe me some… you know relief… preferably [insert fetish here]“
Instead of going forward towards democracy, they’re actually going backwards to a Orwell-esque scenario, where the government controls every little aspect of your daily life. That’s why totalitarian regimes didn’t work – the government wanted to have control over every aspect of one’s life, including the media, nutrition, even going out times – simply everything. That is the wrong way. For a democracy to work I think the leaders have to give certain basic guidelines, not more and not less and to enforce these guidelines with the well-being of the whole in it’s mind.
To come back to the Japanese Loli-ban: I think it’s not very logical to enforce these laws with the reasoning of it being to protect children, whereas specifically these do not come to harm in any way by drawings and cartoons (when kept away from them, but that goes to any form of media such as horror films and substances unsuitable for minors). But as far as my understanding goes, even whar we here call “teen-themed” pornography is (is to be) prohibited – you know the whole schoolgirl uniform and pigtails, allthough you can see from miles that the performing actors are not really schoolgirls, I mean… come on…
Producers of pornographic material are also reasoning that the bill would only allow them to make “MILF-themed” movies which would mean sacrificing a whole of the customer base, meaning further economical consequences which especially in these times is not the optimum.
In these whole debates i guess it’s also forgotten what good the Porn-industry has brought us and the deep implications it had in our lives.
For it was porn that promoted portable video media such as VHS and DVD – and most recently Blu-Ray. Let me explain: before portable video media, the every day normal guy perv would have had to leave the privacy and anonymity of his own home to get his fix of pornographic goodness, but the day portable media was there, they could recieve the newest flicks in brown paper bags directly to their homes – which meant, that the electronic industry could sell VCRs bigger TVs and equivalent equiptment.
Same with DVD and Blu-Ray to which I also dare to say that pornography has been also a very important decider on the “format wars”.
Don’t forget that the whole Internet has profited of pornography – the demand for high resolution pictures and videos – faster access has to a substantial way lead up to the immense bandwidth and infrastructure that we have today (don’t forget that “sex” is dominating the searchword-charts since donkeys years…).
So I think, that we should be thankful for what pornography has managed to give us in total – economic growth and technological achievements.
Also,
that is all.
No, wait – what’s YOUR opinion on this whole porn and loli ban?
